JCSU’s Kendra Clarke Wins 400m at Pan Am Junior ChampionshipsCharlotte, N.C. (Aug. 3, 2015) – Johnson C. Smith track and field athlete Kendra Clarke won the 400m title at the Pan Am Junior Championships at Foote Field in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada.

Clarke, running in her hometown, took the crown by withstanding strong challenges from Sada Williams (Barbados) and Kendall Ellis (USA) in the finals.  Williams and Ellis are ranked No. 8 and No. 7 respectively worldwide in the junior division.  Clarke’s time of 52.55 is a new personal best.

“This is a great result for Kendra as it represents an improvement of 1.4 seconds on her previous personal best,” said JCSU track and field coach Lennox Graham.  “It is also a great result for our Golden Bulls track and field program as we continue to enhance our image globally.”
