JCSU Set to Square Off With Shaw in Annual Homecoming Game
Charlotte, N.C. (Oct. 21, 2015) – The Johnson C. Smith football team will welcome Shaw University to Charlotte for the annual JCSU homecoming game this Saturday, Oct. 24. Kickoff is scheduled for 1:00 p.m.

JCSU’s Carlo Thomas and Coach Kermit Blount Earn CIAA Weekly Honors
Charlotte, N.C. (Oct. 20, 2015) – Johnson C. Smith safety Carlo Thomas and head coach Kermit Blount earned CIAA weekly honors as named by the league on Tuesday morning.Thomas, an East Orange, N.J. product, earned the league’s Defensive Back of the Week award after setting a new CIAA record and JCSU school record by intercepting four Fayetteville State passes.

CIAA 2015 Football Week #7 Recap
Johnson C. Smith and Fayetteville State battled through an entertaining third quarter that included three non-offensive touchdowns, but JCSU prevailed in a huge 37-20 win over the Broncos at the Irwin Belk Complex.
JCSU Football Upsets Fayetteville State, 37-20
Fayetteville struck first on their initial drive as the Broncos capped a nine play, 77 yard drive when Tavon Gatlin hauled in a two yard touchdown pass from Derek Bryant to give FSU the early 6-0 lead.
Fayetteville State Sweeps JCSU Volleyball, 3-0
Makayla Adams (Michigan City, Ind.). The lead was short-lived as Fayetteville State battled back, taking the 7-4 lead after an ace from Ashley Britton.

Allstate’s annual Quotes for Education contest is in full swing! Birmingham agent John Saddler talks to the Tom Joyner Morning Show about the importance of the raising money for Historically Black Colleges and Universities. “We want to see the students that attend HBCUs get scholarships.
